When should I write or update my Will? – Getting Married
When you get married or enter a civil partnership any existing Wills you have are automatically revoked in favour of your new spouse. Without making a new Will intestacy law would decide how your assets are split which can be costly to your family to sort.
It also means you could accident disinherit children from a previous relationship or others who rely on you financially or emotionally.
